Meditation Practice Benefits

Meditation  connects you to the source of inner peace, joy and lasting happiness.  It helps you find relaxation after a stressful work day, find calm amidst chaos and understanding in the face of fear and anxiety.  It keeps you centered, balanced and mentally clear throughout the day.   You will reap many emotional and physical rewards from developing meditation skills, which  requires understanding what meditation looks and feels like when you are in a state of meditation, a technique to use to get into the meditative state and a little effort to make it part of your daily schedule, whenever it is convenient for you and for however long it feels right for you be that 20 minutes or an hour a day.  The most difficult part of being a meditator is commitment to a regular practice.  Knowing something and actually doing it are two different things.

LIKE ANYTHING WORTH DOING, IT TAKES A WILL TO ACTION.

Meditation has come a long way from its origins, when mainly those of the Hindu and Buddhist religions utilized it. I think we all have an image of a naked yogi in cave in the Himalayas and well, most of us aren't too interested in that.  But, in fact, modern meditation is currently among the most popular psychological and physiological means for enhancing the health of the body, mind, and spirit.  Scientific research has been conducted and proven this practice to be beneficial as claimed by the ancients.   Even though the majority of meditation techniques now being practiced, are rooted in cultural and religious traditions, a practitioner is not needed to alter their current faith base.

A large number of physicians, aware of the various advantages that the body and mind can realize through meditation, suggest it for their patients. Some of the advantages include:

1. Decreasing tension
2. Reducing heart disease risk
3. Lowering blood pressure
4. Alleviating pain
5. Increasing focus
6. Conquering fears & phobias

Thus, through meditation, you will  learn to relax deeply and improve your overall health.
